Astana Motors

Kazakhstan’s first company engaged in car sales, after-sale service and assembly. Founded in 1992.

Astana Motors' portfolio is now represented by the following brands:

  • Official distributor of Hyundai, Subaru, BMW, MINI, Motorrad, Land Rover and Jaguar HAVAL, Chery, TANK, Changan, Golden Dragon, Foton.
  • Official dealer of Toyota, Lexus and MAZ.

The Company has built a plant for manufacture of Hyundai passenger cars and a plant for manufacture of Hyundai, Golden Dragon, MAZ and Foton commercial vehicles in Kazakhstan.

Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan, a plant for manufacture of Hyundai cars in Almaty, was launched on October 15, 2020.
The investments totaled over 80 million tenge, of which 30% are own funds of Astana Motors and 70% are loans raised from Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC and Industrial Development Fund JSC.

The project was supported by the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Almaty Akimat.

The plant area is 34 thousand sq. m. The Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant was built using modern technologies of the global motor industry and meets all environmental requirements.

Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan includes welding, painting, assembly and plastic part painting shops and a car parts warehouse. The enterprise makes use of advanced equipment manufactured in South Korea: Hyundai Motor Company, Obara, Korea Hoist, Durr Korea, Korea Tech, Hyundai Rotem, etc. The equipment was installed at the plant by Hyundai Motor Company and Youngsan (Korea) specialists. Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan meets the requirements of Hyundai Motor Company and holds certification documents issued by leading companies that certify world-class plants in Europe, the USA and Asia.

The plant provides over 800 jobs. The plant’s capacity is up to 47 thousand cars per year. Astana Motors will sell 50% of the total number of manufactured cars on Kazakhstan’s market and export another 50% to CIS countries.

At the moment, the company already exports Hyundai cars to Uzbekistan and Belarus.

The passenger car plant is a strategic facility for development of the domestic car industry. It contributes to economic growth and diversification, improves the level of the country’s innovation development and provides for the growth of professional staff, saturates Kazakhstan’s market with new cars, and works to promote exports to CIS countries.

Hyundai Trans Almaty is a plant for manufacture of special-purpose commercial vehicles for utility services and private organizations. Considering the increasing demand for Golden Dragon, Astana Motors has expanded the production capacities and built bus body welding and painting shops and a bus assembly shop in the area of 9,535 thousand sq. m. After switching to the full CKD cycle, Hyundai Trans Almaty will increase the Kazakhstan share in production through the Golden Dragon welding and painting technologies, give a new impetus to export development, create new jobs and increase capacities.

Astana Group also includes its subsidiary, Astana Motors Finance, which has been operating in Kazakhstan’s market since 2004 and offers a wide range of cars and commercial vehicles of global manufacturers for financial and operating lease.

MEGA

MEGA is a chain of Kazakhstan’s major world-class malls. MEGA malls are constructed and developed by Mega Center Management, a developer division of Astana Group.

For 19 years from the day of its foundation, MEGA has built and managed seven malls in various regions of Kazakhstan and has proved itself to be a strong band and a key player on Kazakhstan’s development market.

Today, the MEGA mall chain includes three malls (two in Almaty — MEGA Alma-Ata and MEGA Park and one in Astana — MEGA Silk Way) of 430,000 sq. m in total.

MEGA’s first mall was opened in Almaty in 2006. The second stage of MEGA Alma-Ata was commissioned in 2013.

MEGA Park opened its doors a year later.

MEGA Silk Way, a mall in the capital, welcomed its first guests in March 2017.

Today, the malls attract some 3.5 million people a year by their conceptual, social, cultural, and sports projects.

The MEGA chain provides convenience and comfort, it’s committed to surprise. The malls have all the conditions for family recreation: a cloakroom, baby care rooms, first aid stations as well as dry cleaners, tailor shops, beauty salons. Each mall has its own fire-fighting team. The order in each mall is maintained by its own security service.
