  • Nurlan Smagulov

    President of Astana Group

    Nurlan Smagulov is the founder of Astana Group, which traces its history to 1992 when Astana Motors KMC was established. Nurlan Smagulov held the post of the President of the company from 1992 to 1996. In November 1996, Mr. Smagulov headed the State Food Contracting Corporation CJSC. In June 2002, he became the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zernovaya Industriya KGC, and at the same time, he resumed his post of the President of Astana Motors. In January 2006, he became the Head of Astana Group.

    In 2007, Nurlan Smagulov was awarded the Kurmet State Order for his merits.

    In 2009, Nurlan Smagulov won the national stage of an international competition for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award conducted by Ernst & Young, an international accounting firm.

    In 2018, Nurlan Smagulov has been awarded the II Degree Barys Order for his merits in his business activities and for his contribution to the social and economic development of the country.

    In 1990, Nurlan Smagulov graduated from Kazakh State University, the faculty of Biology and Chemistry.

  • Berik Niyetkaliyev

    Vice President of Astana Group

    Berik Niyetkaliyev is in charge of the development subdivision and deals with economic issues. Mr. Niyetkaliyev has vast experience in various sectors of the economy. During the first years of independence of Kazakhstan and the development of the market economy, he successfully headed the Department of Finance and Economy in the Ministry of Labor of Kazakhstan, and he worked as the Chairman of the Social Employment Fund, the General Director of the Construction Research Institute, and the President of Astana Holding.

    In 1985, Berik Niyetkaliyev graduated from the Institute of National Economy of RK with honors, the faculty of Economics and Planning.

  • Svetlana Shaginyan

    Vice President of Astana Group

    Svetlana Shaginyan is responsible for financial issues. Prior to her appointment as Vice President, Svetlana Shaginyan held the post of the Vice President in the following companies: Zernovaya Industriya KGC, Astana Motors KMC, and MEGA Development. From 1996 to 2001, she worked as Chief Accountant and Vice President of State Food Contracting Corporation CJSC. Previously she worked as a senior specialist, and she was the Head of the revision unit of Astana Holding.

    In 1993, Svetlana Shaginyan graduated from the Almaty Institute of National Economy with a degree in Economics.

  • Gennady Orekhov

    Vice President of Astana Group

    Prior to his appointment, Gennady Orekhov headed the Legal Department of United Cement Group, the largest international holding in the country, which comprised over 20 legal entities located in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia and other countries. During the period of 2006 to 2010, he worked on various projects of the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group, focusing on investment climate and corporate governance in the countries of Central Asia.

    He is an author of a number of publications and articles about Kazakhstan's corporate and financial law and corporate governance. He is also a co-author of the «Manual for corporate governance for teachers”, IFC 2009.

    In 1998, he graduated from the State University of New Jersey (USA) and received a bachelor's degree in Economics and Political Science. He also graduated from Abay State University in Almaty with a degree in International Law.

  • Seitzhan Yesmagambetov

    General Director of MEGA Center Management

    Seitzhan Yesmagambetov oversees promotion and development of the MEGA shopping and entertainment center chain. Before joining Astana Group, Mr. Yesmagambetov worked in various Russian and Kazakhstani organizations, such as LenNIIProekt, KazInvest (Kazakhstan Center for Promoting Investments), and Irtysh Avia Air Company OJSC.

    In 1994, he graduated from the Architecture Faculty of the Ilya Repin St. Petersburg Institute of Fine Arts, Sculpture and Architecture in the Russian Academy of Arts of the USSR.

  • Beknur Nesipbayev

    Executive Director of Astana Motors KMC

    Beknur Muratovich has worked for 10 years in Astana Motors KMC before his appointment as an Executive Director of the company. He started his career in the capacity of Sales Manager for spare parts. Then he was appointed to the following positions: Head of the spare parts department, Technical Director, Director of Hyundai Auto Astana dealership center, and Managing Technical Director of Astana Motors KMC.

    In 2007, he graduated from the Kazakh-Russian University with a degree in Accounting and Audit.
